Each year, KCB recognizes businesses that have made a better than expected effort to beautify their respective storefront or area with both a written letter, newspaper photo, and a “cling on” decal acknowledging this. In 2010, KCB added a sign to the businesses that exceeds expectations. Two residences also receive monthly recognition: one residence in either districts 1 or 2, and one residence in either 3 or 4. In 2009, KCB nominated Glenn Rea, Editor of the Cuero Record, for the KTB Media Award. He and Sonny Long, Reporter for the Victoria Advocate, were presented KTB paperweights for their outstanding KCB articles. In December, KCB hosted an appreciation reception for volunteers and partners, namely, HEB, TDECU, Grace Episcopal Church, and the City of Cuero.
