KCB's mission is to create a more beautiful, healthier, cleaner community and encourage conservation of natural resources through educational programs, printed materials, and technology.
History of KCB
Established in 1986 as Beautify Cuero, Inc., members of Keep Cuero Beautiful have worked long hours to help beautify this community, to educate the citizens and student about the importance of recycling, conservation of natural resources, litter prevention, as well as motivate citizen participation in community-wide cleanup projects. Under the leadership of Bess Blanton and her committee, which included Precelia Brown, Carolyn Ferguson, and Phyliss Lapp, Beautify Cuero Cuero’s placed first in its population category in the 1987 Governor’s Community Achievement Award. The $36,000 award helped to beautify the State Highways 87 and 183 by landscaping the entrances.
In 2004 the Cuero Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture reorganized the committee, and KCB became an ad hoc committee of the Chamber under the able leadership of Ann Hedrick.
KCB meets every second Thursday of the month in Chamber’s Meeting Room at 9:00 A.M.
