has won five Governor Community Achievement Awards. KCB is an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful —Gold Star and an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful—President’s Award.

About Us

Keep Cuero Beautiful and its members promote a clean and beautiful community by keeping Cuero litter free and by preserving its natural environment. Activities include yearly plant swaps, conservation of natural resources workshops, recognition of residential and commercial landscaping projects,  landscaping of public places, and several yearly cleanup days.

“Reduce, Recycle, Reuse”

Keep Cuero Beautiful and its members encourage community members to reduce their use of non disposable products and packaging, to recycle products purchased, and to reuse products sometimes in different ways, up cycling.

Preservation and Conservation of Natural Resources

Keep Cuero Beautiful encourages local citizens to preserve and conserve the natural resources by planting pollinator gardens, by providing wildflower seedballs to citizens, by educating students regarding native plants, and by encouraging students to be water wise.

Keep Cuero Beautiful holds educational workshops encouraging establishment of pollinator gardens and native plant materials throughout the year for the public. KCB provides students with information about recycling and reusing materials, proper recycling habits, hosts coloring contests for all grade levels regarding litter and water conservation, and recognizes winners of the annual “Something from Nothing” holiday ornament contest with custom t-shirts.

Keep Cuero Beautiful, since 1986, has won 5 Governor’s Community Achievement Awards from KTB and TXDOT resulting in $750,000 community beautification projects along Texas highways.  KCB was recognized by Keep America Beautiful for its work in Cuero by achieving President’s Circle distinction.  Recognized by Keep Texas Beautiful for many consecutive years, KCB is a Gold Star Affiliate.

In Memory of Linda Henderson

Linda was Cuero proud, and participated in many civic and charitable activities. She served on Cuero City Council for twelve years, and was one of the founding members of Keep Cuero Beautiful where she served as President for numerous years. Most of all, Linda was a devout Christian who was active in many activities at First Presbyterian Church of Cuero. Sunny by nature, with a quick sense of humor, she accepted life as it happened. She led a rich and active life with her immediate and extended family. Her outgoing personality earned her many lasting friendships.

Linda will be greatly missed a beautiful iron butterfly bench will be placed in the native garden at the City of Cuero Municipal  park by the gazebo in memory of Linda and in honor of all she has done to help Keep Cuero Beautiful.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Keep Cuero Beautiful or Cuero Pet Adoptions
