“Reduce, Recycle, Reuse”
Keep Cuero Beautiful and its members encourage community members to reduce their use of non disposable products and packaging, to recycle products purchased, and to reuse products sometimes in different ways, up cycling.
Preservation and Conservation of Natural Resources
Keep Cuero Beautiful encourages local citizens to preserve and conserve the natural resources by planting pollinator gardens, by providing wildflower seedballs to citizens, by educating students regarding native plants, and by encouraging students to be water wise.
Keep Cuero Beautiful holds educational workshops encouraging establishment of pollinator gardens and native plant materials throughout the year for the public. KCB provides students with information about recycling and reusing materials, proper recycling habits, hosts coloring contests for all grade levels regarding litter and water conservation, and recognizes winners of the annual “Something from Nothing” holiday ornament contest with custom t-shirts.
Keep Cuero Beautiful, since 1986, has won 5 Governor’s Community Achievement Awards from KTB and TXDOT resulting in $750,000 community beautification projects along Texas highways. KCB was recognized by Keep America Beautiful for its work in Cuero by achieving President’s Circle distinction. Recognized by Keep Texas Beautiful for many consecutive years, KCB is a Gold Star Affiliate.
